BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

The following restrictions are to ensure your skin is in the best possible condition for an amazing microblading, permanent makeup or microneedling procedure. Please read carefully:

If you are having an eyebrow procedure and typically have your eyebrows waxed, please make sure to schedule your waxing appointment no sooner than one week prior to your scheduled microblading or powdered brows procedure.

If you are having an eyeliner procedure and you have eyelash extensions you MUST have them removed at least one week prior to your procedure.  If you show up to your appointment with eyelash extensions service will be refused and your deposit will not be refunded.

Please do not work out the day of the procedure as body heat will expand the pores.

Avoid heavy sunlight, especially sunburn, 7 days before your procedure. Skin should not be in process of healing before your procedure!

Do NOT drink coffee or anything with caffeine the day of procedure.

Do NOT drink alcohol 48 hours before the procedure.

The following treatments should be avoided within four weeks of the procedure:

  • Botox or other fillers
  • Chemical Peels
  • Laser treatments

If you have any questions about these restrictions, please give me a call! I'm happy to help.

AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Post-care is very important to the appearance and longevity of your new eyebrows and permanent makeup. Apply a cool compress to the treated area in 10-20 minute increments for the first few hours post procedure. This reduces swelling and aids in healing. For the next 7 days, apply A&D ointment to the treated area with a clean cotton swab, do not use your finger tips. Keeping the procedure area moist with ointment will help retain desired color. Use sun block daily after the procedure area has healed to prevent future fading of pigment color.

The following must be avoided during the 14 days post-procedure:

  • Applying topical makeup to the treated area
  • Increased sweating
  • Practicing sports
  • Swimming
  • Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi
  • Sun tanning or salon tanning
  • UV/UVA Rays or chemicals as they have been known to cause a shift in color and premature fading
  • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing, Retinol, Retin-A or Glycolic acid
  • Picking, peeling, or scratching of the micro pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment
  • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds
  • Touching of the serviced area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care cream with a cotton swab

Eyeliner Procedures

  • Use A&D sparingly, taking care not to clog the tear duct
  • Do not use mascara or eyelash curler (clean w/ alcohol) for three days post procedure
  • When resuming use of mascara, use a new tube to avoid possible bacteria in older tubes

Please wash carefully around the treated area. You may rinse with water and lightly pat dry. While showering, keep the treated area away from the full pressure of the showerhead.

Area may be red, slightly swollen and have a feeling of tightness for all procedures. Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post-procedure. Do not scratch the area, gently tap the area to relieve itching. Experience has shown that by following these after-care instructions, these symptoms may quickly disappear.

If you have any unexpected problems with the healing of the skin, please contact Tami Hanigan immediately, to discuss further instructions.

Contact a physician if any signs or symptoms develop such as the following: fever, excessive redness at the site, swelling, excessive tenderness of the procedure site, elevated body temperature, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, and/or any green/yellow discharge that is foul in odor.
